Ordained Minister
A ceremony that sounds like the two of you.
I am an ordained Minister and I officiate weddings. I have also spent forty years listening to how couples actually speak to each other, which turns out to be extremely useful when writing the words they will remember for the rest of their lives.
This is for you if
- You want a ceremony that is personal rather than generic
- You are not religious, or one of you is and one of you is not
- You are marrying later in life, or again
- You want somebody who will get the tone right
How I write a ceremony
By listening to you both first. Not a questionnaire. A real conversation, where the details that make it yours turn up on their own, usually while you are laughing at each other. Then I write it and you tell me what to change.
Whatever your beliefs are
Religious, spiritual, entirely secular, or two people from different traditions who want both honored without either being diluted. None of that is difficult. What is difficult is a ceremony that sounds like it was bought, and that is the only outcome I actively work against.
Second marriages, and later ones
These are often the ones I care most about. There are usually adult children in the room, a history on both sides, and a great deal that goes unsaid. Getting the tone right matters more here than anywhere.
Format
Walnut Creek and the wider East Bay. Get in touch with your date and I will tell you whether I am free.
I found love again at sixty two. I take these ceremonies personally.
