EMDR and eye movement work
EMDR, eye movement work and Brainspotting
Most people arrive asking about EMDR. It is the name they know, and eye movement is one of the approaches I work with. Often I will move us into Brainspotting, because it reaches what talking has circled for years and never quite touched. Same quiet principle, a little deeper, and you set the pace throughout.
What it is
Brainspotting uses where you look to reach what you feel. We find a point in your visual field that holds the charge, and then we stay with it while your system does its own processing. It is quiet work. There is very little talking and a great deal happening.
I trained as a Brainspotting Practitioner at Pacific Trauma Center, and I use it alongside my other work when something clearly lives below language.
Who comes for this
People who have already talked something through many times and can still feel it in the body. People who go blank at a certain subject. People who have done a great deal of work and sense there is one layer left.
You're not broken. Your relationship isn't either.
What to expect
We agree on what we are working with, we find the spot together, and then I stay with you while it moves. You are in charge of the pace throughout, and we always leave time at the end to settle before you go back to your day.
Other ways we work
Start with a free 15 minute call
We talk, you ask questions, and you decide if this is right for you. No pressure either way.
